Thursday, January 10, 2019, 1:00 - 5:00 p.m.
This session will begin with a short discussion about the National Flood Insurance Program before diving into the forms. This will lay the background about why certain things are required on the elevation certificate form and even the need for the form itself. We will go through the form, line by line, discussing how to fill out each section. We will discuss the use of flood maps and the flood insurance study, sources of base flood elevation data, and look at photos of buildings from Kansas. The elevation certificate can be used as a supporting document for a Letter of Map Amendment. There will also be information about submitting the Letter of Map Amendment at the end of the class. New forms are expected to be released in November, and if that happens the class will cover them.
We will be asking the ASFPM's to approve CEU's for this class.
