Max Pendergrass, is the Public Relations Coordinator for Kansas 811 / Kansas One-Call, a position he has held since 1999. As the PR Coordinator, Max is responsible for underground damage prevention education and training, covering all Kansas Counties from US Highway 81 West, as well as Butler and Cowley Counties. Max began his career in the USAF working on F-4D Phantom weapons control systems. Following his four year stint with the Air Force, Max went to work for AT&T as a technician on microwave radio and coax cable routes in Kansas, where he retired after 29 years and went to work for Kansas One-Call. He enjoys his work, his 5 grandchildren, and traveling with his wife of 54 years. Max is planning to retire in 2019.

This class will include underground safety videos, examples of excavation accidents and damages, information about Kansas 811, Kansas One-Call, and the Kansas Underground Utility Damage Prevention Act, or KUUDPA. We will also discuss any issues or questions that participants have regarding the “call before you dig” process in Kansas.
