General Land Office (GLO) Calculations

This session will provide a practical approach to performing General Land Office (GLO) retracement calculations in accordance with the Manual of Surveying Instructions and long-standing Public Land Survey System (PLSS) principles. Participants will learn how to interpret original GLO plats and field notes to compute proportionate positions for lost corners. Emphasis is placed on common challenges such as double proportion, fractional sections, closing corners, grant boundaries, three-mile method and dependent resurveys.
